ISO 9001: 2015 Transition
The new ISO 9001:2015 has now been published.
SDS experts have now been supporting its clients through the transition to the new ISO 9001:2015 standard. A three year transition period has been set but SDS encourages its clients and organizations to start training and transitioning to the new standard in 2016.
The new standard ensures that quality management systems are aligned with business strategies by greater leadership involvement, identification of business opportunities and risks, and a new approach to implement multiple and integrated management systems.
The new standard includes key changes from the ISO 9001:2008 such as:
More externally focused. “Outside” factors have a great influence on the quality management system (QMS).
Risk-based approach when developing and implementing QMS.
Identifying the competence necessary for doing work that affects quality.
Based on Annex SL - the new high level structure (HLS).
Emphasis on objectives measurement and change
Communication and awareness
Fewer prescriptive requirements
The transition to the new ISO 9001:2015 is an opportunity to improve business, get ahead of the competition, meet the growing needs of customers, and create a cultural change embracing excellence as a standard. SDS experts have been keeping current on all the new changes and are ready to do a gap analysis to the new standard, provide a 1-day transition course, and create an implementation plan for a smooth transition.
