Job duties may include:

  • Carry out job hazard assessments and consider how to reduced or eliminated risk

  • Ensure operational procedures identify all relevant hazards at the workplace

  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly adhered to

  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation and company policy

  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports suggesting improvements

  • Investigate, record incidents and produce statistics for our clients

  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HS&E legislation and any developments that affect the client’s industry segment

  • Conduct HS&E training and orientations at the client’s request

  • Ensure equipment is installed safely and inspected according to manufactures specifications

  • Advise on a wide range of other HS&E specialist areas, e.g. AER, OH&S, Noise, NEB, WCB, Fire, PSM

Necessary job skills:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Public speaking ability with clarity and conviction

  • Negotiating skills while maintaining a collaborative approach

  • Patience and diplomacy while maintain the right attitude

  • Ability to understand and analyze complex information and present it simply and accurately

  • Investigative mind, always asking “WHY “and looking for better / safer ways to complete tasks

  • IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Attention to detail and client focused

  • Advanced understanding of HS&E culture advancement techniques

  • Strong leadership, conflict and problem resolution skills

  • Works well independently and in a team environment
